I got into tropical plants and making my own soilless mixes about 5 to 6 years ago. I watched all of the videos, I did all of the research. My tropical plants that I potted in my soil is mixes were surviving but they were not thriving. I did everything that I was supposed to. I was fertilizing the heavy feeders at half strength every water but they just didn't seem happy. I was getting ready to repot a lot of plants and decided to do some more research to see if there was any new information ouy. I finally put two and two together. Coco coir is a basically a blank canvas. It does not lend any nutrients to the soilless mix. It might have been working for other people but the way I made my mix, fertilizing them even as much as I was was not enough. I read about "Oh Happy Plants" and their habitat blends. It seemed like the last puzzle piece that I needed. Having spent so much time on my plants and my soilless mixes I loved the idea of having a tailored amendment for each type of plant but it really wasn't financially feasible. So I decided to go with the turbo blend. Just mixing it into my soilless mix I realized that this was going to be a game changer. The texture made the mix more like what a plant would grow in. I potted up a few plants and within about three days they were looking healthier and perkier. I swear. Like I said this is an absolute game changer for me and for the plants that I grow. I have already made a second purchase. Your order isn't going to get to you quickly. This is stated clearly on the site so please don't order if you are going to give the owner a hard time. This is a one woman show and things are made/mixed to order. I had some questions and was responded to relatively quickly. The quality of this stuff is so worth it though and I absolutely love supporting a woman owned small business. I am waiting for my second order to arrive!
I've been a plant hobbyist for about 20 years now. I have a veritable jungle spread throughout my home. When I say I've tried countless products over the years, it's an understatement. V's Mix is the absolute best dirt I've ever come across. From the moment you open the bag and feel the product, you know you're digging into something special. My philodendrons and Alocasias have never been happier, and the new growth is amazing🤩. It's time to order a 10-gallon bulk pack. I'll be re-potting all of my plants in this dirt. Works great to get the dust off the leaves of your big plants. A couple of mine are too big to move.
The lambswool works very well to dust and improve the leaves on my plants.
I don’t have any ‘large’ plants, just orchids and snake plants that would need dusting - so I’d have preferred a smaller brush. Even half the size would have been great. Otherwise, it does as advertised.
I'm loving this mix! I'm starting to repot my phals into this mix and they are thriving!
